Keeping my hair looking good always ends up being more complicated than it should be. For one, I have very little water pressure in my old shower, making it difficult to get my dense hair fully wet, let alone wash out all the shampoo. Because of my lousy shower pressure, I've spent an embarrassing amount of time walking around with shampoo still in my hair, despite spending a good 15 minutes trying to rinse it out. Ideally, I only want to wash my hair once or twice a week, so I knew something had to change.
Hairstylist Linet Keshishian previously told POPSUGAR that a scalp massager brush could aid in the washing of hair. "For those who have thicker hair or a lot of product buildup, these brushes are great because they really get in there more than just your fingers would," she said. With her advice, I decided to pick up my own from Amazon.
For only $6, I solved my greasy-looking hair woes. The long silicone bristles of the scalp massager brush were able to reach my roots easily (and also saved my manicure), which saturated my hair with water faster and eliminated product buildup. The brush also assisted in lathering the product, gently exfoliating and stimulating my scalp, and came in handy when it was time to rinse the shampoo from my hair completely. For the first time in the three years I've lived in my apartment, it was actually easy to get my hair clean.
Without leftover shampoo weighing down my strands, my hair looks better than it has in a long time. Ahead, check out the tool that transformed my haircare routine, in addition to a few other great options.
