SBU exposes Russian intel agent group, including nurse of Ukrainian combat unit
According to law enforcement, enemy agents included two women from Kramatorsk, including a nurse from a Ukrainian Armed Forces territorial defense unit. The pair were in remote communication with a Russian military intelligence officer.
He recruited the agents through a representative of the intelligence unit of the 1st Army Corps of Russia’s Southern Military District, which includes the son of one of the women.
In the event of the seizure of the region, the traitors were promised "leadership positions" in local occupation administration.

They collected intelligence on the locations and movements of the Defense Forces in the Bakhmut area, with possible routes Ukraine’s heavily armored vehicles might take to the front as a priority.
The perpetrators also recorded the effects of enemy shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure to correct future attacks by Russian troops.

SBU counter-intelligence officers detained the Russian female agents while performing an intelligence task.
During the searches, the Security Service found cell phones and a laptop with correspondence with a representative of the Russian GRU.
One defendant was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law), while the other was served under Part 2 of Article 114-2 (dissemination of information on the movement, relocation, or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The court imposed a pretrial detention.

The Battle of Bakhmut has been ongoing since July 2022. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported that the Russian army continues its unsuccessful attempts to surround and capture Bakhmut. Trained units of PMC Wagner and Russian regular forces have combined in the failure to take the Donbas settlement.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff voted unanimously at a meeting on March 14 to continue the defense of Bakhmut.
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that the defense of Bakhmut is key to the stability of the entire front.
