There are a few things Today show fans know about Savannah Guthrie. She's a mom of two, a children's book author and after her appearance at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, she is a bonafide fashionista too.
The longtime broadcast journalist brought along her husband Michael Feldman for one of Hollywood's biggest events after the 95th Academy Awards. Not one to shy away from high-end couture, she graced the blue carpet in a sleek black Oscar de la Renta gown. But it wasn't just any typical ensemble. Savannah's outfit featured a halter neckline that included floral detailing, which trailed down her dress and showed off a backless element, making it perfect for the incoming springtime.
Between the risk of the backless design along with a nod to a classic silhouette, Savannah found a way to merge the two ideals with her accessories.
While the length of the gown made it difficult to see what shoes the Princesses Wear Pants author wore to the shindig, Savannah added some sparkle with a bold bracelet and numerous rings. She kept things minimalistic with her short blonde hair styled like she would on TV. She pulled it all together with a rosy lip, flushed cheeks and smoky eyeshadow.
When Savannah later posted red carpet photos from the party to her Instagram, it didn't take much for Today show fans to react to the award season appearance. One theme stood out in the comments, with folks agreeing how gorgeous she looked.
"Your dress was THE prettiest of the night! Stunning," one person wrote. "Loved your dress, you looked amazing!" another raved. "Love your dress @savannahguthrie. Simple yet so elegant. ❤️🔥," a different user added.
Whether we'll get to see Savannah wear this number (or something similar) during her work on the NBC morning show, that's to be determined. But there's no denying that Savannah is building a fashion résumé, one dress at a time.
