'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Have yourself merry Christmas duets

Nothing says Christmas like a roaring fire, hot cocoa, twinkling lights on the tree, and a holiday-themed duet playing via Bluetooth. But you might want to leave Saturday Night Lives version of holiday hits off the playlist.

In this 2011 sketch, singer Michael Buble debuts a new album of Christmas duets featuring big music stars like Sting (Jimmy Fallon), Taylor Swift (Kristen Wiig), Justin Bieber (Fallon), M.I.A. (Nasim Pedrad), and Thom Yorke (Fred Armisen), among others.

Unfortunately, these harmonies aren’t quite melding. Bieber misses his line while he’s dancing, winking at the camera, and making hearts with his hands. M.I.A.’s recording session goes off like a bang (literally). Then there’s Russell Brand (Fallon), who doesn’t seem to understand this whole song thing whatsoever.

Even Kanye West stops by to proclaim, “Jesus, I’m so much better than you.” That’s the spirit of the season!

SNL returns with host Sam Rockwell and musical guest Halsey on Jan. 13, 2018.
