Chris Noth's Sex and the City and And Just Like That co-stars - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis - have spoken out for the first time since allegations of sexual assault were made against the actor. Noth, best known for his role as Mr Big in both series, has denied any wrongdoing as two women have accused him of rape and a third of digitally penetrating her without consent.

Posting to their Instagram Stories, Parker, Nixon and Davis all shared the same statement of support for Noth's accusers, signed by the three of them.

In full it reads: "We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it – Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis."

The story of Noth's alleged assaults was initially broken by The Hollywood Reporter, after two women (using the pseudonyms Zoe* and Lily*, and who are said to not know one another) independently came forward wanting to speak out against Noth. They both said that seeing Noth back in the public eye whilst reprising his role of Mr Big had been difficult to deal with.

One alleges they were assaulted by Noth in in 2015 (during which time Noth would have been married to his wife Tara Wilson for three years) and the other in 2004 (by which point Noth and Wilson had been together for at least two years).

When contacted for comment following the first two allegations of rape made against him, Noth replied to The Hollywood Reporter with: "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross."

Following the third accusation, a his representative for Noth said: "The story is a complete fabrication, and the alleged accounts detailed throughout read like a piece of bad fiction. As Chris stated yesterday, he has and would never cross that line."

Former news reports from the 1990s, alleging that Noth was physically abusive to his previous partner, Beverley Johnson, have also resurfaced on social media (something he has also denied).
