Sarah Hyland's Abs Are Rock Solid In Her Post-Workout Instagram Selfie

  • The Modern Family star also shared a peek into how she maintains her abs with a video from her Rise Up Pilates class in Los Angeles.

Actress Sarah Hyland knows a thing or two about leveling up her core game. Again and again, as she's come back from lower abdominal surgeries.

The 30-year-old Modern Family star showed what it takes to maintain her toned abs. She abs-olutely crushed a tough Pilates workout class at Rise Up Pilates in Los Angeles in her Instagram stories.

“Today was a struggle but she showed up 🙃” Sarah captioned a sweaty post-Pilates selfie after what looked like one epic class.

Sarah and her friends did a number of Pilates moves, including sliding squats with resistance bands and some bicycle crunch variations that looked positively brutal. Pilates exercises like these are good for stabilizing and strengthening the core, and simultaneously tapping other muscle groups.

This is just one example of Sarah's many sweat sessions. She has been documenting her workouts with a highlight called “Strong>Skinny,” a mantra of hers along her muscle-building journey.

“I love to be STRONG. (I’ll be using that word a lot) Strength is everything. Being strong has gotten me where I am. Both mentally and physically. I am not a fan of ‘being skinny,'" she wrote on Twitter in May 2017. After being placed on bed rest, Sarah has shared her goals and struggles with her fans.

“Building that muscle back be hard ya’ll,” Sarah captioned another video from the Pilates class. It certainly looks like she's accomplished it, though.

Pilates isn’t the only thing featured in Sarah’s workout routine. According to her fitness highlight reel, she incorporates pull-ups, lifts dumbbells, does pushups, resistance crunches, and cardio barre class in her sweat seshes.
