Sarah Ferguson honored her friend, Lisa Marie Presley, by remembering some wise words once uttered by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

On Sunday, the Duchess of York attended the Graceland memorial service for Presley, who died at 54 years old this month. Sarah was among Presley's loved ones who spoke during the service to "celebrate the extraordinary Lisa Mari," per People.

"I stand here with great honor because we called each other 'sissy,' and I've been with you all for all your lives really," the duchess reportedly said, referring to Presley by her nickname. "Sissy this is for you with affection. My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing [that] can be said can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments, because grief is the price we pay for love. And how right she was."

According to ITV, the queen famously told bereaved family members of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, "Grief is the price we pay for love."

Sarah previously paid tribute to Presley on Instagram shortly after her passing was announced.

"I say hello to you everyday and I love you my sissy and I will continue to say hello to you everyday," she wrote, captioning a photo of the two embracing. "You were my sissy, an amazing mother to Ben, Riley, Harper and Finley and a superbly loving daughter to Priscilla. You have been my devoted friend for many years and I am here for your family to support and love them. I am deeply saddened my sissy, you are in my heart."
