Samantha Markle Just Weighted In On Meghan's Oprah Interview: "I Was A Markle Before She Was"

From Women's Health

Welp, in the most unsurprising update ever, Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha Markle, who she hasn't seen for over a decade, is out here giving her thoughts on the duchess' interview with Oprah.

Speaking to Inside Edition (via Us Weekly), Samantha said “The truth was totally ignored and omitted." She added, "I don’t know how she can say, ‘I don’t know her’ and she was an only child. We’ve got photographs over a lifespan of us together. So how can she not know me?”

Meghan had previously told Oprah re: Samantha, “I think it would be hard to ‘tell all’ when you don’t know me,” and “I grew up as an only child,” adding that “The last time I saw her must have been at least 18, 19 years ago, and before then, 10 years before that.”

Samantha also took issue with Meghan's claim that she “changed her last name back to Markle in her early 50s…only when I started dating Harry."

“I was a Markle before she was,” she said, providing a photo of a petition to change her name back to Markle in 1997. “I thought that was kind of weird that she would say I only changed my name back when she met Harry. Markle has always been my name.”

Okay! Either way it's more than clear that Meghan and Samantha have no relationship as of now, and haven't had one for quite some time, so it seems a little curious that Samantha felt the need to write an entire book about her. Just sayin'!
