Samantha Markle Bashing Doria Ragland is Surely the Straw That Breaks the Camel's Back

It’s been exactly a week since Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry welcomed sweet baby Archie. Five days since Samantha Markle released a passive aggressive statement about the birth, supposedly extending an olive branch to the half-sister she’s spent three years trashing in the press. And two days since Markle broke said olive branch in half and lit it on fire á la Daenerys Targaryen.

In a brand new interview with the the Mirror, Markle spent the day ahead of Mother’s Day criticizing new-mom Meghan for not including their father, Thomas Markle, in the baby celebrations. “It’s sad. He should have been involved. Being excluded is like a dagger through his heart…And poor Master Archie is not getting to know a creative, loving person,” she said, echoing a sentiment she’s said to the tabloids many times before.

But the British press doesn’t pay Markle for interviews as well as it does for her to just keep rehashing old and tired sound bytes, does it? So this time, she went after the most dignified and graceful person she could: Doria Ragland.

Markle lashed out at Ragland for not encouraging Meghan to reunite with her father, as if the duchess doesn’t know what’s best for her and her family. Or as if she’s forgotten the countless times Thomas has humiliated her, Prince Harry and himself in the press. As if her private pleas with him weren’t publicized to the world and her words turned to tabloid fodder.

“She could have said ‘get your dad out here.’ But sadly there seemed to be a lack of effort,” Markle said. Adding, “Doria hasn’t tried to mend the rift between Meghan and her dad…I think everyone’s been hoping Doria and Meghan would have an epiphany, but I don’t know if it will ever happen.”

This interview comes on the heel of the thinly veiled insults Markle included in her congratulatory message following Archie’s birth on May 6. “We’ve extended the olive branch and now it is Meghan’s turn,” Markle said in a DailyMailTV interview. “We’re all welcoming the baby —Markles, Raglands, Sussexes, Windsors. In terms of the gene pool, we’ve all made a contribution to this wonderful little boy who will probably grow up to be an exceptional man and we’d like to treat this as if we’re all a big family. It would be nice not to react to what we’ve heard in the news but to personally meet him and let him judge us for himself.”

It was one thing for Harry and Meghan to ignore and turn the other cheek when the Markles were out here bashing them to the media. But it’s a whole new ballgame when Markle comes out swinging against Ragland and running her mouth about their newborn. There’s surely only so much they can take before they put a stop to it once and for all.
