Sabrina Carpenter Confirms Her Song “Nonsense” Isn’t About Joshua Bassett During Concert Performance
Sabrina Carpenter has officially taken her fifth studio album, emails i can't send, on the road and she poked fun at her alleged past relationship with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star, Joshua Bassett, at one of her latest tour stops.
During her emails i can't send tour, Sabrina has been switching up the outro of her track, "Nonsense," to shout out each city she's performing in. For instance, at her second show at New York City's Webster Hall on October 6, she sang "New York City, I would have your babies. You sold out two nights, that sh*t is crazy. If I take a picture, will you say cheese?" before pulling out a digital camera to take a selfie with the audience.
While performing at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 15, the 23-year-old multihyphenate sang, "I've got a personality but no t*ts. This song is not about Joshua Bassett. Los Angeles, your energy is big d*ck." She sang the cheeky lines to the tune of "Nonsense." TikTok fan account Sabrina Tour Info has posted each outro from every city, including LA.
Sabrina's latest single off her album, "Because I Liked A Boy," is rumored to be about her alleged relationship with Joshua and the love triangle drama surrounding it. "I'm a homewrecker, I'm a slut. I got death threats filling up semi-trucks. Tell me who I am, guess I don't have a choice — All because I liked a boy," Sabrina sings on the vulnerable track. Her lyrics also reveal that "when everything went down [they'd] already broken up."
As of now, it seems that things are all good between Sabrina, Joshua, and Olivia Rodrigo, as the drama has been put behind them. At a Met Gala after party in May 2022, Sabrina and Olivia were photographed while chatting with each other and in July 2022, Joshua and Olivia reunited on the red carpet for the season 3 premiere of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Now, all three artists have released musical projects, including Olivia's album, SOUR, Sabrina's album, emails i can't send, and Joshua's latest EP, Sad Songs in a Hotel Room.
