Ryan Seacrest is getting ready to begin his new role on Wheel of Fortune, and that means getting well acquainted with his soon-to-be co-host and show veteran, Vanna White.

Seacrest, 48, will soon be taking over the co-hosting duties from longtime host Pat Sajak and joining White, 66, on the WoF stage, and from the sound of it, the new duo is already hitting things off.

"Of course, being next to Vanna, she's a legend. She's an icon," the American Idol host told E! News in an interview published Tuesday, Dec. 5, where he also shared how the future co-hosts have been getting to know each other ahead of their new season.

"We spent a little shooting some promos for next season, and she's just so down to earth," Seacrest said. "She's exactly what you would expect."

But being in the presence of the iconic game show hostess isn't the only thing Seacrest is looking forward to with his new gig, as he also expressed his excitement to step on the legendary WoF stage, which he has been seeing on TV for years.

"It's just so exciting to think about being on that set," he gushed. "I've watched the show for so many decades. I'm a fan of the show, and the game is the star."

However, it's no secret that Seacrest has some big shoes to fill, after stepping into the role in place of Sajak, 77, who has held the position for 40 years.

"He is so smooth and seamless. He's beloved by the country. So I feel a lot of pressure," Seacrest previously spilled back in September. [But] I'm really excited. I can't wait to just give away a bunch of money to people every night."

"He is a legend. I've looked up to him forever," he continued, while noting the words of wisdom he got from Sajak himself.

He just said, 'You're going to have a great time. It's so much fun. What's better than giving away money and doing that every single night?'" Seacrest recalled, adding, "I can't wait to meet the contestants and do it."

Seacrest will be taking over for Sajak starting in 2024 for Season 42.

Wheel of Fortune airs weekdays on ABC.
