It’s no secret that Neymar has hit the turf on occasion during the 2018 World Cup. 23 separate occasions, to be more precise. And while his opponents have spent almost as much time complaining as the world has spent trolling him, one enterprising outlet went through the trouble of calculating his total ‘recovery’ time throughout four matches.
RTS, a Swiss network, concluded that Neymar’s been on the ground for nearly 14 minutes during the World Cup. Assuming 360 total minutes of action, not including stoppage time, that means nearly 4% of his playing time has been horizontal.
