Rumored 'Harry Potter' TV Series Conjures Up Mixed Reactions From Fans

Harry Potter is reportedly getting a TV series! 

Bloomberg announced yesterday, April 3, that the beloved wizardry franchise is getting a television series courtesy of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The rumors began back in November 2022 when Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey revealed to Variety that "there is a tremendous amount of ambition for [a Harry Potter series] and we are engaged in a number of different conversations."

And now it's rumored that a deal is close to being sealed. Thus, it didn't take long for fans to weigh in on the new rumored series.

"For years I have been saying that HBO needed to make a Harry Potter Television series with a big budget," one fan gushed online. "This will give so many people the chance to truly experience this phenomenal tale, instead of just getting the 'best bits' that the movies cover."

"I'd love a Harry Potter tv series IF they stay true to the books and characters not turn it into woke garbage," a second fan chimed in.

Another user had a similar outlook, writing, "Harry Potter reboot series is cool for me, I’d like to see more of the book put into it… however if they add random shit or completely change the identity of a character I’m not watching that s--t."

However, not everyone is thrilled about the new series, with one user writing, "Nobody wants a f--king Harry Potter hbo series can ppl just leave it as it is Its good how it is pls nobody cares."

"There should NEVER be a Harry Potter Reboot! Potter's time is over and done! The film ended years ago, and the Fantastic Beasts films no one wanted and were a rightful failure, the messed up years of continuity and were bad! Leave it and make a new series on different books," another fan wrote.

The new project is reportedly based on original author, J.K. Rowling's seven-part book series. Deadline also previously reported that the controversial author is in talks to join the series as a producer.

Only time will tell if fans will actually get to re-board the Hogwarts Express.
