Royal Wedding photographer had to bribe the kids with candy
On Monday, Kensington Palace released three new official portraits from Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's whirlwind day. The shots were taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski and featured the bridal party and family alongside the new husband and wife at Windsor Castle.
One of the photos features the ten young pageboys and bridesmaids --including Prince George and Princess Charlotte -- smiling big and wide, surrounding Markle and Harry. It was no doubt a hassle to get all the youngsters looking happily at the camera at the same time, especially after such an overwhelming and exhausting day -- but Lubomirski pulled off the shots beautifully, much to the help of some sweet treats.
BBC revealed the photographer had bribed the youngsters with chocolate candy to show off those pearly whites. "I could hear the kids started crying in the background and there was some chaos, and then I heard this magic word... 'Smarties'," he said according to the outlet.
The fashion photographer was also behind Meghan (who donned a sheer $75,000 Ralph & Russo gown) and Harry's stunning engagement pictures taken at Windsor's Frogmore House in December. Unlike Kate and William's engagement photos, which were shot in 2011 by famed artist Mario Testino, Meghan and Harry's portraits show a more relaxed, PDA-filled approach to the couple.
“She was actually a godsend because obviously Prince Harry has done many photos before, but she really knew what goes into a photo shoot because she's done it so many times before," Lubomirski commented on the winter photoshoot, later adding that the two looked very much in love.
