From Woman's Day

Prince George just turned six! Time sure does fly when you’re wishing you had just a sliver (!) of the lavish lifestyle that a royal baby does, but alas. To celebrate George’s big day, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared the cutest new photos of him on Instagram. In the comments section of one of the photos, George’s uncle Prince Harry and aunt Meghan Markle wrote a really sweet message that is now attracting so much hate for the most ridiculous reason.

The new parents had the nerve to tell their nephew, “Happy Birthday 🎂🎈! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!” Yes, they even used emojis too! The audacity.

But yeah, people are actually upset that his family told him “happy birthday.” Replying to Meghan and Harry’s comment, judgmental royal fans attacked the couple for not using George’s official title. In his case, he should be referred to as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, but, like, nobody really uses the full title casually. Also, he’s six.

Fans commented, “Happy birthday to who? He is HRH PRINCE GEORGE!!!! Future King!” and “His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge he is the future King and to be your King.” I’m sure Meghan and Harry are very pleased to have this little succession lesson go down in the comments section as if they never would’ve known!

One person also made a reference to Hollywood and wrote, “They still have to show deference and respect to him. It is the British royal family, not some Hollywood film set!” which is likely a dig at Meghan. Actually, there were quite a few comments directed to Meghan only even though this is a joint account for her and Harry.

Sigh.
