A Royal Baby! Princess Eugenie Is Pregnant, Expecting First Child

The royal family is getting bigger! Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their first child, the palace has revealed Friday.

“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021,” the official statement read. “The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”

Princess Eugenie took to Instagram to share the news herself, following the official palace announcement. “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021….👶🏻,” Princess Eugenie captioned the photo of herself with Jack holding a tiny pair of bear slippers. And in the second photo shared by the royal couple, the expecting parents can be seen looking happily into the camera.

Eugenie’s new brother-in-law Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi commented underneath with a series of pink heart emojis and Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas also “liked” the photo.

After the news was confirmed officially, soon-to-be grandma Sarah Ferguson, took to social media with a few words. “I am so excited by the news that Eugenie and Jack are expecting their first child,” wrote the Duchess of York. “Thrilled for them both and in my 60th year cannot wait to be a grandmother. Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy.”
