Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has postponed the launch of his anticipated new training shoe in order to pay his respects to Jacob Blake, who was shot and killed by police officers in Kenosha this week.

The Project Rock 3, the latest in the actor's line of training shoes with Under Armour, was due to be released today. Johnson confirmed that the drop has been delayed until further notice, however, so as not to draw attention away from the growing outcry surrounding the circumstances of Blake's death.

"Out of respect for Jacob Blake & his family we’ll postpone our @projectrock @underarmour PR3 launch today. I’ll keep you posted on our relaunch date," Johnson wrote on Twitter.

In footage that has been viewed more than 9 million times on Twitter, Blake can be seen opening the driver's door of his car, before being shot in the back seven times by police. The officers involved were reportedly concerned that Blake was reaching for a weapon, however, an attorney for the Blake family says there was no weapon in the car. According to Benjamin Crump, another attorney representing Blake's family, his three sons were also in the car at the time. He was 29 years old.

"Unbelievable we’re here again," Johnson continued on Twitter. "Shot 7xs. In the back. In front of his kids. There’s no progress without humanity."

Johnson has repeatedly spoken out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement this year, calling for the Minneapolis PD officers who killed George Floyd to be held accountable, criticizing the lack of leadership from the White House during such a tumultuous period, and praising the people who are stepping up and taking action to fight for racial justice.

"Change is happening," he said in an Instagram video in June. "It's going to take time, we're going to get beat up, we're going to take our lumps, it's going to be bloody. But the process of change has already begun."
