  • Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Dany Garcia have announced their newest venture, Athleticon.

  • The fitness and entertainment event will include panels and competitions.

  • Athleticon will take place in Atlanta in October.

Pop culture fans have Comic Con, and Stranger Things fans have Stranger Con, but if you're a health and wellness buff, there really isn't a convention that you can go to—until now. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his business partner Dany Garcia have recently announced the upcoming arrival of the fitness event Athleticon, and it sounds amazing.

Athleticon will include competitions, panels, live performances, and exclusive premieres, and you can also expect to explore facets of nutrition, healthy living, sport tech and fitness at the event.

Athleticon will focus on a combination of athletics, wellness, and entertainment, and each aspect of the two-day event will feature special guests.

For athletics, the event will feature a number of pro and amateur competitions, with the highlight being the NPC Worldwide International Championship, which is the first-ever international championship where athletes can compete on U.S. soil for gold, silver and bronze medals

You can also look to Athleticon for all things wellness, as Yoga Girl Rachel Brathen will conduct a massive yoga experience, and high-performance expert Brian MacKenzie will bring customized training to the event.

But of course, you also come to conventions to be entertained, and Athleticon will also host the Athleticon Festival on Saturday night from 6 to 10 p.m., and the music-filled festival will be free for all Athleticon ticket holders.

Garcia is CEO and Chairwoman of The Garcia Companies and TGC Management, and she told CNN that Athleticon also hopes to host a movie premiere and a bodybuilding pro show.

Johnson also said that the event is a natural extension of his and Garcia's interests. "We've always been committed to fitness and health—it's what sustains us mentally and physically," Johnson said in a statement. "Creating Athleticon is a natural extension of everything we do for our global audience who are connected to the people and brands that inspire them."

The only downside of Athleticon? The fact that we'll have to wait until later this year to attend it. The event will take place from October 10-11, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia, but you can sign up now for early access to tickets.
