A documentary about pop star and business mogul Rihanna is set to premiere on Amazon next summer.
The anticipated film's director, Peter Berg, confirmed in a new interview that it's almost finished.
"Amazon's gonna release it summer next year, sometime hopefully around the Fourth of July. It’s been a really epic journey, the past four years with her," said Berg.
Rihanna's documentary is on the way.
In an interview with Collider, director Peter Berg updated fans on the status of the long-awaited project starring the pop star-turned-bona fide business mogul. After years of following Rihanna around, cutting footage and content together for the film, the doc will finally debut next summer on Amazon.
"The Rihanna doc is something I've been working on with her for almost four years now," said Berg. "Amazon's gonna release it summer next year, sometime hopefully around the Fourth of July. It's been a really epic journey, the past four years with her."
Berg also confirmed that due to Rihanna's multiple business ventures—including her Fenty clothing label, Savage x Fenty lingerie line, Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand, and Fenty Skin product launch—on top of the singer also diligently working on new music, has slowed down production on the documentary.
"She's a remarkable woman, who everyday seems to grow and branch out into new businesses and new endeavors at a rate that it's almost hard to keep up with," revealed Berg. "So every time we think we're going to finish the movie and put it out, she does something like start a fashion line like Fenty, or her lingerie line, or her skin care line. She's firing on all cylinders, she's making new music now and she's having so much success in business and she's such an entrepreneur that we're letting it grow, but we are gonna try and close it up in the spring and release it in the summer."
