When Rihanna touched down in Seoul yesterday to lead a masterclass for Fenty Beauty, makeup wasn’t the only thing on her mind; her trip proved the perfect time to test drive some of the runway’s most daring pieces. In full mogul mode, she arrived at Shinsegae Myeongdong to celebrate the second anniversary of her brand’s launch wearing a crisp white suit from Jacquemus. The oversized blazer, tailored trousers, and layers of diamond jewelry by Chopard and David Yurman proved the perfect choice for greeting fans and demo-ing her brand’s latest products. Polished off with a bright coral Fenty lipstick and loose waves, the look was elegant—but with just a touch of that trademark Rihanna swagger.

As always, one great outfit wasn’t enough for music’s most fashionable woman, and Rihanna made a quick change into a ruched column gown by Christopher John Rogers. Orange with a hint of pastel pink, the piece came straight from Rogers’s Pierrot and Gauguin-inspired Spring 2020 collection. Sexy, eye-catching, and designed by a buzzed-about young talent: everything about the look felt brilliantly fresh. Rihanna and her stylist, Jahleel Weaver, have always been smart about balancing her wardrobe choices, but her selection of outfits for this Seoul trip perfectly reflected her experimental, chameleonic style in all its glory. Clothes fit for an entrepreneur, pin-up, and everything in between—they represented every side of the multi-faceted performer.
