It's no secret that Rihanna is the undisputed queen of the Met Gala, but when it comes to festivities closer to home, the pop-star-turned-fashion-designer proves time and that again that her reign extends farther than just the Upper East Side. At this year Crop Over festival Grand Parade (also known as Kadooment Day or Carnival) in her home country of Barbados, the singer arrived in a cloud-like array of giant pink feathers reminiscent of the flamingo couture trend that Valentino set ablaze for Fall/Winter 2019.
With hair styled in African bantu knots, she accessorized the look with eye-drop-sized Fenty earrings and dramatic sea foam green eyeshadow. But of course, Rihanna is a veteran head-turner to the Caribbean event, which is something in between dance party and over-the-top masquerade parade. While she skipped last year's occurrence, in those previously she's rocked everything from a red bedazzled bikini to a crystal-adorned two-piece with white angel wing feathers.
One could call it a homecoming of the perfect kind.
