Rider's Wheel Explodes On Impact
Many mountain bikers are familiar with hitting the back side of a landing. It is always a jarring feeling.
Not everyone who hits the back side of a jump is lucky enough to walk away with a functioning bike. Watch a young French rider destroy his wheel casing a jump below.
In this video, Nathan rides off of a large jump and hits the backside of the landing. As he walks back to the car, you can see his absolutely mangled wheel
One thing that contributed to the wheel exploding was the fact that the landing was made out of wood. Logs are harder than dirt and Nathan squarely hit a stout one.
This jump looks hand-built at an unsanctioned jump line. One of the more fun parts about being young is finding a janky bit of woods and building a jump spot with your friends. Even though the city could eradicate it at any time, the memories built digging and riding there will last a lifetime.
