Rider Uses Ski Resort's Dust For The Ultimate Freeride Line
As the sport of freeride has progressed, people have found steeper and more remote lines to pilot their bikes down.
Why? Most riders would say because it is there!
Watch Andreu Lacondeguy descend a steep hillside at a ski resort below.
In this video, Andreu descends the back bowl of a ski area. Lacondeguy harnesses the powder skiing ethos as he carves through the loose dirt. Carving loose dirt is one of the more popular freeride activities.
Perhaps the peak of loose mountainside riding was the feature film Where The Trail Ends. A decade ago Andreu and some of the other top pros set out to ride their bikes down some of the steepest hillsides they could find. The result was a masterpiece film. See the trailer below.
Sometimes it feels like the sport is threatening to lose its exploratory roots in favor of cultivated experiences. Thankfully, many riders continue to go out and ride crazy hillsides like Andreu here.
