Rider Takes "Tubeless" Tire To The Next Level

Tubeless tires might be the best invention in mountain biking since, well, the wheel. They have completely redefined how much traction is enough traction.

All that being said, I think this rider might've missed the memo of exactly how a tubeless tire works. Take a look at this hilarious misinterpreted setup below.

If nothing else this is a testament to how durable rims are these days. I mean, I wouldn't ride it after all this but if that wheel can hold up to all that without a tire on it, imagine how long it would hold up with a tire on.

Speaking of wheel durability, the tire insert vs. no insert war has been reignited recently with a series of statements that came out from wheel manufacturers and CushCore. The latter claiming its inserts provide superior durability over time and the former saying that they hadn't found any evidence of that.

Obviously, both parties have a vested interest in being right so it's hard to glean anything from each saying the other is wrong, but maybe in the future, we will see some independent testing to settle the debate once and for all.
