In this video, a Redditor is attempting a tricky chute in British Columbia. Near the bottom, the front wheel washes on the slippery roots. This sends his body like a lawn dart into tree roots at the bottom of the chute which looked quite painful. Thankfully, he walked out of it and was okay.
Helmets are only good for one crash. A crash like this clearly required a replacement. A couple hundred on a helmet is the best investment you can make.

In the comments of the video, Reddit users were commending him for his helmet choice. They say that POC offers discounts on crash replacements. There are other brands that also offer similar support after the fact.
