RFK's 22-Year-Old Granddaughter Saiorse Kennedy Hill's Funeral Will Be Held on Cape Cod Today

Saiorse Kennedy Hill, the granddaughter of Robert and Ethel Kennedy, and the great-niece of JFK, will be laid to rest today. A spokesperson for the family has shared that her funeral will take place at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville on Cape Cod, and a private burial ceremony will follow.

The 22-year-old died tragically on Thursday of a suspected overdose at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Her death is still under investigation, and an official cause of death is pending a toxicology report.

Hill (pictured above holding a baby at a family celebration and ceremony in Boston for the naming of a naval ship in honor of Robert F. Kennedy in 2016) was the daughter of Courtney Kennedy Hill, the fifth of Robert and Ethel Kennedy's 11 children, and Irishman Paul Michael Hill, and in the days following her death, members of the Kennedy family have been sharing tributes to the young woman.

“Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse. Her life was filled with hope, promise, and love,” said the family in a joint statement. “She cared deeply about friends and family, especially her mother Courtney, her father Paul, her stepmother Stephanie, and her grandmother Ethel.”

The message also called attention to Hill's activism and her community service.

“She lit up our lives with her love, her pearls of laughter and her generous spirit,” read the statement. “[She] was passionately moved by the causes of human rights and women’s empowerment and found great joy in volunteer work, working alongside indigenous communities to build schools in Mexico. We will love her and miss her forever.”
