Report: NFL Network VP David Eaton resigns amid sexual harassment scandal
NFL Network vice president David Eaton has resigned in the aftermath of a sexual harassment scandal that has engulfed the network, Deadspin reports.
“Last night David Eaton tendered his resignation from NFL Media effective immediately,” NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller said in a statement.
A former employee has filed suit against the network, accusing several executives and current and former broadcasters of varying degrees of sexual harassment including sexting, inappropriate workplace conversations, gifting of sex toys and groping.
Marshall Faulk, Warren Sapp, Heath Evans, Donovan McNabb and Ike Taylor are all named in the suit filed by former wardrobe stylist Jami Cantor.
The day after the lawsuit, Eaton, who oversaw NFL Network media, reportedly scrubbed his Twitter account of years worth of interactions with escorts and porn stars. He later deleted his Twitter account. Eaton was not named in the lawsuit.
It’s the second high-profile resignation in sports broadcasting this week after ESPN president John Skipper suddenly stepped down Monday, citing substance abuse problems.
