Report: Greg Olsen gets new two-year deal with Panthers

Greg Olsen has been one of Cam Newton’s key weapons for most of the last half-decade in Charlotte. And now, Olsen has a contract extension that will keep him in silver and teal through the 2019 season.

Several outlets are reporting that Olsen has signed a two-year deal worth $8.55 million, with incentives that could take the deal up to $10.05 million per year. That’s up from the $6.75 million Olsen was slated to earn in 2018 in salary and bonuses.

Olsen hadn’t missed a game for the Carolina Panthers in the five seasons prior to 2017, but played only seven games last year due to injury. He has apparently talked to ESPN about an analyst job once his playing days are done, and has done time behind the mic on occasion. But for now, it looks like Olsen will be suiting up in Carolina for the next two years.
