Reports: Bodyguard for boxer Floyd Mayweather shot outside Atlanta hotel
A man telling police he is a bodyguard for boxer Floyd Mayweather was rushed to the hospital after being shot outside the posh InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel, according to multiple reports.
Three vehicles were returning to the hotel from a club on Atlanta’s Buford Highway around 3 a.m. when another car pulled up beside them and fired multiple shots at one of the vehicles, police informed the media. The three vehicles reportedly fled the scene, with the car giving chase. Upon escaping the shooter, the vehicle carrying the victim took him to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital.
“At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle,” Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
