If living in an apartment that Lady Gaga once occupied sounds like an absolute honor, you’re in luck! The New York City apartment the singer rented before her rise to fame is on the market for $2,000—with two months free on a 13-month lease!

Located on the Lower East Side at 176 Stanton Street, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment is where Gaga lived for three years before her first album “The Fame Monster” launched her to megastardom, according to a 2011 60 Mintues interview with the singer.

The apartment is in a well-maintained, pre-war building. It features 10-foot ceilings and an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, according to the listing. There are plenty of windows throughout the northwest-facing space, including a skylight near the kitchen and living area.

While the unit doesn't boast such amenities as an elevator, washing machine, or dishwasher, the price is prime for the location! Back in February 2020, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment on the Lower East side was $3,219, according to Zumper. As of February 2021, it’s $2,215. With two months free on a 13-month lease, the net rent of Gaga’s former apartment comes out to $1,692 per month—quite the steal!

The pandemic, while extremely detrimental, has had one exceptional effect: lowering rent and breeding deals. While you may find other apartments around this price in NYC right now, not all of them were once occupied by the great Lady Gaga!
