Regina King is making history tonight at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards. The actress just won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in Watchmen, marking her fourth Emmy win overall. But King's win tonight is especially significant, because it matches the record for most Emmy wins by a Black actor ever, tying Alfre Woodard's record.

Not only did King tie this historic record (and at her rate of impressive performances, we're thinking she might pass Woodard in the near future) but the actress also did something that's never been done in the history of the Emmys. With her fourth Emmy win, King became the first actress to win the award for both lead and supporting actress in multiple TV Movie/Limited Series.

In 2015 and 2016, King took home the trophies for Supporting Actress for her role in American Crime. In 2018, her role in Seven Seconds earned King the Emmy for Lead Actress. Tonight, King adds a fourth trophy to her Emmy Award collection—and we have a feeling she isn't done yet.

Plus, King is making a powerful statement tonight by wearing a Breonna Taylor T-shirt while tuning into the show from home, in order to raise awareness for the Breonna Taylor Foundation. We stan a record-breaking queen who uses her platform for good.
