Redskins tweet that DeAngelo Hall has 'not yet officially decided to retire' on Monday night
Reports surfaced on Monday that Washington Redskins defensive end DeAngelo Hall was going to retire, telling reporters that he’s done playing football and currently deciding between offers to become a TV commentator, front-office executive or assistant coach.
“I’m not playing. That’s for damn sure,” Hall told the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Monday. “But yeah, all the other stuff is still on the table.”
That, though, may not be true.
The Redskins tweeted on Monday night that Hall hasn’t “officially decided to retire despite reports.”

It’s unclear whether Hall is thinking of coming back to play another season. Maybe he just hasn’t made his retirement official and submitted the paperwork yet.
The 34-year-old is currently a free agent, and has only played in eight games over the past two seasons while battling injuries. Hall has been with the Redskins for the past 10 seasons, and has played in 171 total games in his 14-year career.
Now, it’s very likely that Hall will retire after all. However, should the Redskins’ tweet mean that Hall is looking to play another season, and he finds a team willing to make a deal, who knows? Maybe he’ll be in the league one more season.
