The internet continues to walk a fine line between a beautiful place to communicate and learn and a horrible hellscape that teaches you about things you do not need in your life.

Today, welcome to the hellscape: You’re going to learn about peegasms.

Everyone has experienced the uncomfortable moment of realizing they have to use the restroom and there aren’t any around. Maybe, in your youth, you were told the old wives’ tale that peeing on the side of the road causes sties, and you err on the side of caution. Either way, you’ve had to hold your pee when you’ve had to go.

Now, Reddit users are suggesting that the relief you feel when you finally do get to a toilet feels so good you may experience what some users are calling a “peegasm.”

“So my girlfriend recently told me if she’s had to hold her pee in for a while, when she actually goes to pee, she often has orgasms that she feels all the way up her spine to her head. If she does ‘reverse kegels’ while peeing, they’re even more likely to happen,” a Reddit user wrote.

Although some chimed in with their own experience of a peegasm, other users suggested that it felt good — but not that good. One wrote, “I call them the piss shivers because they’re not quite orgasmic in my opinion but close enough.”

But is that pleasure worth the dangers of holding your urine for too long? Probably not.

Charlotte Elder, MD, a gynecologist and spokesperson for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, told Whimn that holding your urine in hopes of achieving a peegasm could result in bladder damage.

“Bladders need to be treated with respect. It’s important to go when you need to go, not when you’re busting,” she said. Bladder injuries can take years to recover from, and sometimes the damage is irreparable, she said.

Clare Morrison, MD, at MedExpress, told Cosmopolitan: “Holding on to urine could lead to urinary infections and even kidney damage.

Why not try this instead?

“There are more practical and more pleasurable ways to have an orgasm,” Elder said. “My advice is to try something a bit more old-fashioned.”
