Reddit is Hootin' & Tootin' Over an Employee Who Calls Their Colleague's Baby 'Flatulence'

Reddit is blowing up over a workplace “prank” that blows wind. The original poster (OP) spilled the tea about a colleague’s baby who presumably cuts the cheese, and commenters can’t get over this beyond-ridiculous situation that puts a recent diaper dilemma to shame.

In a post on the AITA subreddit, the OP shared a story about an “insufferable” coworker who they have dubbed “Linda.” The two are a pharmacist and doctor, respectively, who work at a hospital.

“Linda and her girlfriends though it would be funny to play pranks on me involving inviting me to nonexistent parties and arranging coworker dates where no-one would show up,” the post said.

Umm … are these medical professionals actually middle schoolers in disguise?

When Linda returned from maternity leave, her pranks changed from unbelievably mean (thankfully) to downright weird.

“I was trying to be nice and ask what her child’s name was, and she apparently thought it would be funny to tell me her child’s name was ‘Flatulence.'”

Weird flex, but OK.

“I decided to go along with it and asked how was Flatulence advancing and so on, and she answered my questions nicely. Needless to say, everyone giggled, and I played dumb.”

As time went on, Linda stopped appreciating the joke (that she started!) and teared up before telling OP to stop calling her child that. We are happy to report that OP stood their ground and continued to use the hilarious (*eye roll*) name Linda came up with.

Sorry, Linda, but you placed your own whoopee cushion. Now you have to sit on it.

Commenters are having a blast (*wink wink*) with this post that has more than your average [crop] dusting of potty humor.

Prank her back, they said, suggesting that OP buy personalized clothes with the baby’s name — or, better yet, cute phrases like “I ❤️ Flatulence!”

“As a ‘present’ to ‘make up for whatever I did that made you cry,'” one commenter said.

Others encouraged OP to not hold back, and throw a baby shower for the little tooter. Instead of shopping for our favorite baby shower decorations, she should look for a crappy cake, stinky streamers, booty-covered banners: the works. One commenter said they would contribute to a GoFundMe to make “one of the most epic pro revenges ever” happen, and we want to know where we can RSVP.

And in a show of support, Redditors decided to band together and brainstorm baby names. Afterall, there may come a day when instead of clearing a room, Flatulence just might welcome a baby sibling.

Top contenders include Diarrhea, Constipation, Hemorrhoid, and Meconium.

“I guess Linda’s little joke backfired in a spectacular fashion,” one commenter wrote, much to the satisfaction of another commenter who loved the choice of words.

All pettiness aside, commenters encouraged OP to reach out to HR and document Linda’s consistent bullying. Both the significant offenses and the smelly ones. After all, a [toilet] paper trail is a good thing to have.

The internet unanimously agreed that OP is NTA, and that Linda needs to have a serious change of heart and rectify the situation.

If she needs any help with that, we hear that beans, beans are good for the heart.
