Before Euphoria wowed us all with its larger-than-life beauty looks, Pat McGrath was doing just that for magazines (including Teen Vogue!) and runways alike. Now, maybe it’s thanks to Euphoria being centered around the lives of teens instead of being seen in glossy pages that these extravagant beauty looks seem more realistic and achievable today, or maybe it’s just the shift with social media and the ever-growing community of beauty Instagrammers and YouTubers. Whatever the reason, I think we can all agree that we love a good makeup moment — even if we don’t have Pat McGrath’s skills ourselves or even Doniella Davy’s, the head of Euphoria’s makeup department.
That being said, we’re guilty as charged for stocking up on all things glitter, shine, and sparkles lately. Our skills aren’t quite there yet, but after asking the lead makeup artist of Pyer Moss’s spring/summer 2020 runway, Daniel Sallstron, for tips on how to re-create the Euphoria beauty looks of our dreams, we learned that we’re closer to our goal than we originally thought. Because thanks to his bedazzled looks that were inspired by ’70s rock-and-roll glam, we got the inside scoop of which products you actually need (besides patience!) to bedazzle your face and make it look great.
Luckily, nothing fancy or costly is involved. Yes, you read that correctly. You most likely own all of the products already! From tissues and tape to tweezers and lash glue, find out below what else you need besides your shimmery eyeshadows to not look like that little girl from Vine.
But don’t worry if you don’t have the patience. You can still rock a Euphoria beauty look via Instagram filters, and no memes will come out from that.
How to Achieve a Clean Glitter Look
“Always have a tissue underneath your eye when you’re applying your glitter. And then, after you’ve done it, if you have glitter all over your skin use a bit of tape to just lift it off. That’s the best trick!” Pyer Moss’s lead makeup artist, Daniel Sallstron, shared with Teen Vogue behind the scenes of the spring/summer 2020 show.
How to Apply Rhinestones
“Lash glue is the best! I use latex-based lash glue and apply them with tweezers. Also, give yourself an hour to just glue it on. Because it’s easy, but it’s just time-consuming,” Sallstron shared.
Rhinestones, Pearls, and More!
Now that you have all the tools to put together the best Euphoria-inspired beauty, it’s time to choose your other beauty weapons! Whether you’re opting for pearls over rhinestones (or both!) or you want to try out a glitter look, below we’ve rounded plenty of products that you can incorporate into your beauty look. Once done, find your angle and the best light and take that selfie!
