Rebel Wilson has actively shut down new claims that she underwent her weight loss transformation by following one diet in particular.

After reports suggested she stuck to the Mayr Method diet, the actor and comedian, 42, shared a screenshot to her Instagram stories and wrote, "This was NEVER my diet, please stop writing this stuff."

The Mayr Method has been around for nearly 100 years and aims to improve digestion and health by altering the foods people eat and how they eat them.

Separately, the Pitch Perfect star added, "Also have NEVER endorsed any diet pills or magic weight loss pills or crypto currency.

"If you see stuff like this online please report it as a scam – do not send it to me as a DM – report it on the social media site you see it on when you see it.

"If I'm endorsing something you'll see it only as official posts on my official and verified social media."

"Thanks everyone – it's really annoying when people use my image unlawfully or in misleading ways," Wilson concluded the messages addressed to her 10.6 million fans. "Do NOT want anyone to get scammed. Love you guys xoxo."

Wilson last publicly acknowledged her weight loss during her opening monologue as host of the BAFTAs, which led to many on social media debating whether women should have to address their appearance at events in the first place.

However, this was of course Wilson's comedic decision to use it as a joke. "I might look a bit different from the last time you saw me here," she said. "That was me two years ago and since then I’ve done quite a transformation — I hope J.K. Rowling still approves."

"Everybody's asking me 'Why did you lose weight?'" she added. "Well clearly, it was to get the attention of Robert Pattinson."

Instead of one strict diet, Wilson has previously attributed her weight loss to "a year of health" in 2020.

"Okay signing off for 2020! I like these two pictures cause together they represent the UPHILL JOURNEY I've been on this year with my YEAR OF HEALTH mission," she captioned a post at the end of the year, with images of herself standing in front of a plane and skiing.

Her journey included a visit to an Austrian health retreat, "which flushed out every toxic substance possible in all sorts of crazy ways," and was where she also learnt you don't always have to do extreme things to get results.

"While I was there I learned that moderate – not even fast paced – walking is the best way for me to lose unnecessary body fat," she previously told Shape magazine.

Wilson said that until her 'year of health' she had "never properly considered wellness from all angles". "But I was turning 40 and thinking about freezing my eggs, and the experts told me that the healthier I am, the better the process can go," she explained.

"I get a little emotional when I ask myself why I didn't care about my health before this. It just wasn't a priority, and I didn't know how to do it right."

In terms of what Wilson's nutrition did look like during her weight loss journey, while she did try to alter her eating habits for the better, it seems balance was also key.

"I've really changed to eating a high-protein diet, which is challenging because I didn't used to eat a lot of meat," she previously told People. "I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast."

"It doesn't mean every week is a healthy week," she added. "Some weeks are just write offs, and there's nothing you can do about that.

"I'm just trying to go for overall balance, overall healthy balance. I have this state of being, which is not my quote, but I go 'Nothing is forbidden.' We'll be like, 'Should we get In-N-Out burger?' And I'm like, 'Nothing is forbidden.' I can go there, I just might eat half of what I used to eat before. You know? And I'll have a burger, and a few fries, and then you feel fine."

Wilson also attributed the slower pace of the pandemic to allowing her to change parts of her lifestyle. "I really took it as time to get really well-rested and de-stress because most of my stress is work-related."

She added, "I think I was emotional eating, and overeating at times, because I wasn't loving myself enough either. And it does come down to that self worth and self love."

While Wilson has shared some of the intense and creative workouts she's done with her personal-trainer-to-the-stars Jono Castano, such as "an epic Opera House stair challenge" which involved 30 laps and walking to and from the landmark, flipping tyres, and other things she committed to along the way, these were always in between reminders for self love and what's most important.

"Rather than step on the scale, look at yourself in the mirror and be like “dammmm girrrrrl ...you’re smart and talented and accomplished and perfect just the way you are," one of her motivational posts included.
