Reba McEntire is back on the big screen!

Well, sort of. The singer, songwriter, and actress surprised fans with a hilarious cameo in the new comedy Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar, which is available to stream everywhere you rent movies. Reba plays a glamorous, smiling sea spirit named Trish who saves the main characters from drowning—and looks great while doing it.

"I'm not advertised as being in the movie. It's been this secret," Reba explained to USA Today. "I know you’re going to be surprised, but this is the first time I’ve ever played a sea spirit"

The film's producers and stars, Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig, knew from the start they wanted Reba to play their hero.

"If you're about to die underwater, and some sea spirit is about to save you, it would be Reba McEntire," director Josh Greenbaum joked. "There's some casting that just clicks. Reba is not only 100% authentic, we knew she would be game."

As predicted, the 65-year-old was "so ready" to take on the role.

Reba traveled to the picture-perfect set near Cancun and got glammed up in a sequined gown, shell necklace, and fiery red wig (which happens to look a lot like her real hair did back in the '80s 😂). And can we take a minute to appreciate that eye makeup?! She *shore* knows how to rock the mermaid look.

CGI was used to add bit of dazzle to Reba's dress, along with two magical sea turtles that perched above her shoulders. But the smile on Reba's face in the movie is 100% real.

"Oh, my gosh, I had these hunky guys around me making sure I was safe," Reba said of filming her scenes. "I loved every minute of it."

And that's why we love you, Reba.
