Reality Steve Says The New 'Bachelorette' Clare Crawley Has 'Major Shock Value'

From Women's Health

  • The next Bachelorette was announced on Good Morning America Monday morning.

  • Clare Crawley will be the new Bachelorette in 2020.

  • Reality Steve previously reported that Kelsey Weier, Tayshia Adams, and Tia Booth were also top contenders.

Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor is coming to a close, and while fans wonder who the heck will get his final rose (Hannah Ann? Madi? Victoria???), another major question is also on Bachelor Nation's mind: Who will be the next Bachelorette?

As of Monday morning, fans have that answer. Drumroll please. The next Bachelorette is Clare Crawley. Clare, who is 38 years old, competed for Juan Pablo Galavis' heart in 2013 and came in second. She also popped up during the Bachelor Winter Games two years ago.

According to Reality Steve, Clare wasn't among the three people who had "formal interviews": Kelsey Weier from Pilot Pete's season, Tayshia Adams from Colton Underwood’s season, and Tia Booth from Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season.

"Clearly a lot of people get interviewed, and multiple women sign contracts so when they do make their announcement, they’re ready to go and start shooting intros," he wrote.

Clare's name first entered the conversation when an unconfirmed spoiler emerged on Facebook. "For those that didn’t see, this was the rumor that was posted on a FB Fan Page last night. I have no idea who this person is, why they’re reporting it, or if it’s even true. This was the first I’d heard of it. Guess we’ll see," Reality Steve said on Twitter.

Steve then weighed in on the possibility in a follow-up tweet: "Here’s my opinion on Clare IF she does end up being the 'Bachelorette.' Yes, it’s random. And yes, she’s not on anyone’s radar really. But 1) that gives them major shock value 2) gives them some1 older and 3) it kinda puts her as a combination of being the female Arie & Nick."

Steve further explained his comparison of Clare to Arie, since both former contestants seemingly "came out of nowhere" back to the forefront of Bachelor Nation. "He hadn’t even been on Bachelor programming for 5 years. It’s only been 2 for Clare since Winter Games," he tweeted. "And Clare has had chances, just like Nick did multiple times, that for whatever reason didn’t work. Would it still surprise me? Absolutely."

"This show is all about who has a story they can sell to their audience. And Clare no doubt has a story," he added. "Not saying it’s any better or worse than someone else’s story. I’m just saying I can see where they’re going if it does end up being her."

There's also new intel on Clare's crop of potential guys as Bachelorette. Before Clare was announced as The Bachelorette, Reality Steve shared intel that the group of men already cast for the next season skewed young. "For what it’s worth, I have 10 guys that I’m pretty sure are cast to be on the 'Bachelorette,' and only one of them is in their 30s—and he just turned 30 recently," he said. "Might mean something, might mean nothing."

BUT, Reality Steve says the producers are quickly re-casting an older set to match the Bachelorette. The 25-year-olds are getting the boot to make way for the 30-somethings. Reality Steve tweeted: "As of right now, of the guys that I have, 4 of them have kids. And they are definitely going to be doing some late casting of more older guys this week after Monday’s announcement. They’ve already told a couple of the 25 year olds they’re no longer cast bc of the age difference."

Now that the secret's out, here's hoping many more juicy spoilers are coming about Clare as The Bachelorette.
