The Real fans, it’s almost time! The daytime talk show is returning on Monday, but it won’t be the same. In addition to season 7 being fully remote in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais is officially joining hosts Jeannie Mai, Loni Love, and Adrienne Houghton as the new co-host.
As folks know, back in July, co-host of seven years Tamera Mowry-Housley caught fans off-guard when she decided to leave the program. But rest assured, she has the full support of her former colleagues, especially Jeannie.
“I’ve always known that Tamera wanted to be with her family,” Jeannie tells Good Housekeeping during an interview about her new partnership with Straight Talk Wireless. “She had a really tumultuous schedule with The Real. Not only was she flying back-and-forth from Napa, but she was a mom handling school schedules, being a great wife to her husband, and obviously, being a woman who also cares a lot about her community and her business."

She continued: "It wasn’t easy for her to manage all of that and be her best self. When I found out, Tamera told us personally that she wanted to leave, and I was very happy for her.”
With this perspective, Jeannie understood Tamera’s decision, and she was ready to bring a new voice to the table. The 41-year-old shares that The Real co-hosts were let in on the decision and participated in the interviewing process. The trio immediately noticed Garcelle had a certain quality about herself.
“We all felt unanimously that Garcelle was just a beautiful fit,” Jeannie says. “[She] just had something that we all didn’t know or have and for our fans, we want to make sure we have variety. She’s her own different, unique woman, and I can’t wait to hear her stories, and her journey in life. I think it’s important for fans to meet other empowering women so that we can learn and laugh with.”
Together, the four co-hosts will tackle important issues like racism, offer life advice, and give the latest on lifestyle and entertainment news. This season’s guests include The Masked Singer judge Ken Jeong, Good Morning America's Michael Strahan, actresses Denise Richards and Debra Messing, and politician Stacey Abrams, among others.
Here’s to new beginnings for Tamera and Garcelle!
