With all the hype surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's newfound romance, it's almost expected to see them supporting each other at their various events. Given how the Grammy Award singer has showed up for the NFL star for multiple Kansas City Chiefs games, you'd think that Travis would find his way to support Taylor on the next leg of her highly-buzzed The Eras tour.
But when Taylor began a string of new concert dates in Argentina on November 9, fans were surprised to see that Travis wasn't in attendance. What made this even more surprising is that the football star is currently on a bye week, meaning that the Chiefs have a week off from playing games until they square up against the Philadelphia Eagles (the team Travis' brother Jason Kelce plays on) on November 20. So, if this was the case, where exactly was he while Taylor performed in South America?
Turns out, there was a really great explanation behind why Travis wasn't at Taylor's first show. Instead of being in Argentina, he went to support his teammate, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, at the fourth annual 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Gala. What's more, the charity's Instagram shared a story of him at the event, being a supporter of the group's work, which was founded by Patrick in 2019 and focuses on a number of initiatives which include "improving the lives of children," per the foundation's website.
Although Travis skipped out on Taylor's first show, it doesn't mean that fans won't see him at future stops. During a November 8 episode of the New Heights podcast, his brother Jason seemingly implied that Travis may be venturing to be with Taylor when the two discussed Travis' plans for his bye week.
"You got anything you're looking forward to going to?" Jason asked him during an ad for Seat Geek.
"I might just say f*** it and just go somewhere nice," he replied. "I don't know. My skin's getting real pale, so I've got to go somewhere sunny... closer to the equator."
"South of the equator?" Jason rebutted back with smirk.
Guess we'll need to keep our eyes peeled for who will be at Taylor's concert the next couple of days!
