BTS is releasing a new single on August 21.
The new song doesn't have a name yet, but it may be completely in English.
In what could easily be the best news of 2020, BTS is releasing new music. The K-pop group announced that they're releasing a single on August 21 via the Korean live broadcasting app V Liveew, according to Billboard.
"We have prepared a new single for ARMY, set for Aug. 21. We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible," BTS said. "Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans."
And American fans don't have to worry about a translation this time. Even though the single doesn't have a name yet, BTS revealed that it will be in English. "The song is upbeat and sung in English, just like 'MIC Drop' and 'Waste It on Me,'" the group said on the broadcast. "We thought that the song sounded perfect as it is in English. We recorded the guide version and felt that the result was something totally new and fresh." If the song is completely in English, it would be BTS' first all English track.
This new album will be BTS' second this year. Map of the Soul: 7 was just released in February. The group also planned to go on tour this year, but had to cancel tour dates due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
But even throughout the pandemic, BTS has been keeping busy. They performed on The Late, Late Show and did a virtual concert back in April. Even the FILA collection they released at Urban Outfitters was almost completely sold out in one day.
