Millions are anticipating the premiere of Yellowstone season 5 part 2, especially since we got word that the show is ending for good. We're reaching the end of an era for the powerful Dutton family, but how will the series come to a close?

There are plenty of Yellowstone fan theories out there, including a new one that might just predict the show's ending, who will die, and who will ultimately take over the ranch.

As you may have heard, the brooding cowboy, John Dutton, will not take part in any new spinoff series, according to Taylor Sheridan.

Though, Yellowstone's patriarch may not be the only one fans will depart with. Anyone who's at all familiar with the Western drama's storyline knows to never get too attached to anyone on the show—as hard as that may be. There's an ever-revolving door of characters being introduced as fast as they are dismissed, which has pretty much numbed us from the value of shock. (Who are we kidding... our mouths are continuously dropping because of this show!)

Luckily for us, the primary cast and crew have all stood strong thus far. However, it's the series' finale we're talking about, which means anything can happen. Plus, we know that both Beth and Jamie Dutton are walking on some very thin ice, with each side seeking the other's death—as seen in the season 5 part 1 finale.

For context: Beth has continuously suggested bring Jamie to the "train station," which we all know is Yellowstone code for killing someone off. This comes after Jamie's plot to impeach his father as governor of Montana. On the other hand, Jamie confided in Sarah about hiring a hitman for Beth.

Now, the siblings have not once gotten along in the show's five season run. But even Yellowstone's biggest fans know that their current situation is a completely new milestone for the two. And while we don't know how this will end, it hasn't stopped fans from speculating who they think will die. Because one of them has to, right?! Well, not necessarily.

Who will die in season 5, part two?

There's a wild fan theory circulating on Reddit that neither Beth or Jamie will die. Instead, it's proposed that it might be Summer Higgins (Piper Perabo) who see's deaths door.

"With Piper Perabo being stuck there on house arrest, I feel this hit that’s coming is going to kill her thinking she’s Beth," one user commented.

This sort of sparked a movement on the platform, with people starting their own discussions on the topic.

"Since Summer is living in the main house, I really think Jamie's hitman will mistakenly kill her instead of Beth. That is the only reason I can see why she is in John's house … I can't see Beth getting killed just yet," another user chimed in on a separate thread.

There have been many mixed reviews—with some users commenting their full support and agreement on the theory, and some not fully convinced. Most can agree that they wouldn't want it to be Beth who dies. But that doesn't necessarily mean that we want it to be Summer, either! As for Jamie, well—we have our thoughts! 🤠

Either way, this theory has completely changed the trajectory of how we think about the future of Yellowstone. After all, if neither Beth or Jamie die, that means the Dutton ranch is up for grabs. It could technically be inherited by any of the Dutton kids.

Well, there was that theory in a nutshell. If this proposition was enough to convince you, let us know in the comments!
