After years of lips—red lips, purple lips, pink lips—eyes are finally stealing back the beauty spotlight. The 2015 Billboard Music Awards featured a parade of sultry smoky cat eyes. From 18-year-old Hailee Steinfeld to the legendary Jennifer Lopez, these four ladies proved just how sexy a simple swipe of eyeliner can be.
Pitch Perfect 2′s Hailee Steinfeld wore a feminine white ruffled Givenchy mini-dress. The young star’s sharp cat eye turned the prairie-girl dress (”Bad Blood” co-star Cara Delevingne wore it on the runway, by the way) into a mature, sophisticated look.
While Steinfeld used slick black liquid liner, Swift went for a softer look. Her smudged, bronzed cat eye complemented her shaggy blonde hair and beaded Balmain pantsuit where black would have been too severe.
Laverne Cox of Orange Is The New Black topped off her sexy, sparkly Marc Bouwer mini dress with a red lip and thick black cat eye.
As if Jennifer Lopez’s barely there Charbel Zoe dress wasn’t sultry enough, the singer and mother of two added a seriously smoked out brown eye to her va-va-voom look. This is the definition of a smokeshow.
