Rare Footage of Erin Napier Singing "Bobby McGee" in Downtown Laurel Over Ten Years Ago

There's more to Erin Napier than her artful eye and remarkable renovation projects. While devotees of Home Town know that the HGTV star wears multiple hats—mom, wife, best-selling author, and owner of Laurel Mercantile, to name a few—you might be surprised to hear that Napier is also an excellent musician. And here's proof: We just came across rare footage of Napier singing and strumming her guitar from 12 years ago.

According to the video, which was posted in February 2011, Napier took the stage to play a few songs at City Centre Crepes & Coffeehouse in downtown Laurel, Mississippi. Before wrapping up her set, Napier decided to play a song she said folks "always" ask her to play. The tune of choice: "Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin.

Simply put, Napier nailed the cover—and the people in the video's cheering crowd aren't the only ones who think so. One viewer wrote, "Omg this is my girl from HGTV. She can sing too? She is absolutely gifted." "Multitalented and so very likeable," commented another. "Rock on, Erin!" Meanwhile, other fans were sending in requests. "I’d love to hear you do more Joplin maybe some [Morissette].... so amazing."

And, like us, there are other Home Town fans wishing she'd get a record deal already. "I've heard her sing many times [and I'd] buy her CD and listen all day long," one viewer commented.
