Even in my youth, I always noticed my under-eye circles were darker than my friends’, and they seem to deepen each year, layered with puffiness and the latest nuisance — fine lines. I’ve tried a number of concealers but struggled with finding a shade that matched my skin tone enough to provide full coverage, and if I did, it would crease into the lines. This meant a reverse outcome for what I was trying to achieve.
My search for a product that heals versus hides ground to a halt when I had the chance to test Augustinus Bader’s The Eye Patches, which just got a restock of the $22 single packs. The luxury beauty brand, used by Victoria Beckham and Sharon Stone, has skincare that incorporates the brand’s innovative TFC8 technology — a blend of vitamins and nutrients that make skin firmer and healthier.

The eye patches, available in a single pack or pack of six, are formulated to hydrate the area, brighten dark spots, soothe puffiness, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Ingredients include acetylated hyaluronic acid (an even more moisturizing form of the well-known HA), sunflower root extract to plump skin, and niacinamide to brighten.
I placed the patches on my under-eye area — getting as close to my lash line as possible — on dry, just-cleansed skin and left them on for 20 minutes as I went about doing other activities at home. They were cooling and soothing from the minute I put them on and stayed put as I moved around despite their slippery texture. I stan a product that lets me multitask while it works its magic. When I removed the patches after the full time had passed, I dabbed in the bit of remaining product left behind and noticed a soft brightening, glowy effect on my normally dark circles.
Since I was fortunate to receive the pack of six pairs to test, I had enough to use for the recommended two to three times a week to see if they also affected the fine lines around my eyes. After using them for two weeks, I began to see that along with the immediate radiance and de-puffing from wearing the patches, my lines had softened, and the creases were not quite as deep as they were pre-use. It made that thin skin feel and look tighter and firmer.
Shoppers also found beneficial brightening results, saying the eye patches “work brilliantly,” according to one person. They kept the pack in the fridge before using them and found that the “results are fantastic,” adding that the patches are their “magic pick-me-up.” Another reviewer who called them “amazing” said the ultra-hydrating formula “reduces puffiness and smooths wrinkles.”
