Queen Letizia of Spain Gives Spring Florals the Royal Treatment

Queen Letizia of Spain has been a fashion plate since her princess days, favoring such elegant looks as pastel suiting, cape dresses, and A-line frocks. Earlier today, on an outing with her husband, King Felipe VI, she demonstrated her distinct brand of refinement once more, taking her first stiletto-clad steps into spring in a dress by Carolina Herrera, which featured an artistic interpretation of blooming flowers.

Queen Letizia’s style tends toward the conservative and classic, and today’s dress featured a high neck, long sleeves, and a to-the-knee length that kept in line with royal protocol. (It also conjured up associations with Kate Middleton, who sported an equally fresh floral look, Alexander McQueen’s poppy print dress, last fall when meeting Team Great Britain at Buckingham Palace.) The monarch topped off the structured, streamlined silhouette with tonally coordinated stilettos and a CH Carolina Herrera clutch—ladylike details for a regal finish.
