King Charles III and Queen Camilla recently reached a milestone in their relationship: The royal couple marked 18 years of marriage on April 9, 2023. One royal fan, Jessica who is based in Italy, sent Charles and Camilla a card for their 18th wedding anniversary, and Camilla sent a detailed replied back to her. The queen consort mailed Jessica a card with a portrait of the royal couple on the front and her response on the other side, which was also engraved with her monogram and a crown symbol. “Thank you for your thoughtful message for our 18th wedding anniversary,” Camilla writes. “It is hard to believe how quickly time has flown by…!” Camilla even signed the note “Camilla R” in her own handwriting. According to People, following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September of 2022, Camilla has signed her name with an “R,” which stands for “Regina,” meaning “queen” in Latin.

On April 26, 2023, Jessica uploaded a photo of Camilla’s response. “King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 18th wedding anniversary🌹,” her caption says. For years, Jessica has mailed messages to various royal family members for holidays and important events, such as birthdays, engagements, and New Year’s. The royals often reply back to her, and Jessica shares those responses on her Instagram account, @royaladdicated_replies, for her followers to see. So far, she’s posted 325 replies from royals around the world.
During the Christmas season, Jessica also sent Camilla a card, wishing her a happy holiday. Camilla responded to that message in the same envelope as the wedding anniversary card. This time, the future queen chose a photo of herself sitting at a green wicker table and drinking what appears to be tea for the front of the card, and the back featured the same monogrammed initials. Camilla replied, “So many thanks for your kind Christmas message, which was greatly appreciated. This comes with my warmest wishes for a healthy and happy New Year.” She also signed this message in her handwriting.
To continue their pen-pal relationship, Jessica sent Camilla a card for her 75th birthday, which took place on July 17, 2022. Camilla replied back to her that same month, and she expressed her feelings toward the age. “Thank you for your birthday message,” the card says. “I can’t quite believe that I’ve reached three quarters of a century!” She signed the card “Camilla” without the “R” since her birthday took place before Queen Elizabeth died. This time, the card was stamped with a different crest: the letter “C” topped with a crown. Camilla chose another portrait of herself dressed in a patterned shirt for the front of the card.
On the actual anniversary of Charles and Camilla’s wedding anniversary a few weeks ago, the duo spent the day celebrating Easter with the royal family by attending a church service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Other royals, such as Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, Peter Phillips, and more were also present for the celebration. For the occasion, Charles and Camilla showed up to the Mass in matching blue ensembles.
