Pyer Moss Partners With The Yellowhammer Fund on Sold-Out "Ladies..." Unisex T-Shirt

Pyer Moss’s latest campaign is already sold out — and the entirety of the proceeds will support reproductive healthcare.

The brand founded by designer Kerby Jean-Raymond recently launched a unisex T-shirt reading “Ignore all advice that starts with ‘Ladies….’” In a short video accompanying the attention-grabbing tee, the brand explains the overall message behind the campaign: “Much of the advice given to women and girls doesn’t come from a place of care but one of control. Every woman should have the right to control her career, her body, and her destiny.”

In the 40-second clip, we hear just some of those snippets of “advice,” the words sounding strikingly familiar. “Ladies, you shouldn’t swear,” one woman says, while another recites: “Ladies shouldn’t be too loud.” Ultimately, the shirts serve as a response to (and rejection of) such phrases, “in support of women’s rights to control their career, body and destiny.” Like previous collections, this Pyer Moss project aims to provoke thought and raise awareness through fashion and art.

The shirts, which became available for purchase Saturay, July 27, on Pyer Moss’s website, cost $125 each. 100% of the proceeds are being donated to The Yellowhammer Fund, an organization that provides funding to people seeking abortions in Alabama, where the Senate recently passed a bill that would effectively ban all abortions in the state.

“We want to show our Alabama lawmakers that Alabamians and people across America believe in abortion access, and that they can’t make abortion stop if they make it illegal in our state,” Amanda Reyes, the co-founder of The Yellowhammer Fund, previously told Teen Vogue in May. “We are going to put all of the money that we raise into funding the practical and abortion-funding support network that exists in the deep South so that our people can get the abortion care they need.”
