New Publix opens north Tallahassee. Here's what's wowing shoppers.
A recently opened Publix located in The Shops at Bannerman Village has locals raving the new grocery option.
Shoppers took to Facebook groups to share their excitement about the grand opening of the supermarket’s latest location at 8462 Bannerman Blvd. The location features a second-floor dining area and drive-thru pharmacy.
The 48,387 square-foot location features a full service pharmacy with a drive-thru, as well as departments for groceries, dairy, frozen foods, seafood, meats and fresh produce.
“We are excited to bring another Publix store to Tallahassee,” Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, said in a release. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers and providing them with premier service and quality products.”
One happy shopper and Tallahassee Foodies Facebook member, Scottisha Whitten, even captured her shopping tripping with videos and pictures at the early morning grand opening for those who missed out.
Whitten added in her caption, "You can tell much thought that went into the store building. Wish I lived across the street. I would be there every day."
Local talk show host Greg Tish gave the capital city a sneak peek of the location with his own photos in the Living Tallahassee Facebook page, telling the group: “Drove around the new Publix today. Not one building but two. Drive-thru pharmacy and a liquor store. My bubble is about to get smaller.”
The store operates seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
