In case you need another reminder, fall is riiiight around the corner. That means Labor Day weekend is approaching, so you should probably start thinking about your end-of-summer look (you know, for that small BBQ or socially distanced picnic you have on your calendar). And if you need a little inspo, our hair guru, Stasha Harris, has got you covered. This week on The Braid Up, we're giving you a freestyle stitch bun. Usually stitch braids are meant to be uniform, but with this look, Stasha plays around with the parts to create an eye-catching, graphic style.

Here's the 411 on how to bring this look to life:

1. Use a wide-toothed comb to detangle your hair. This will make sure you're not putting too much stress on your scalp and hair. Pro tip: Work from tip to root to avoid creating even more knots.

2. Cleanse your scalp with a rinse. A root rinse keeps your scalp clean and healthy, allowing your natural hair to grow strong and long. So, like, it's a must-have in your routine.

3. Don't sleep in your edge control—it can lead to acne, tension, and even hair breakage. Make sure you rinse it out every night with a little bit of sulfate-free shampoo.

4. Spritz some dry hair oil on your braids. This is a major key for maintaining shine when your braids start to look a little blah.
